Prayer and Liturgy

Our church has a rich inheritance of prayers stemming back from the Psalms all the way through to the collects prayed each day across the world. These are helpful shoulders to stand on as we pursue inward growth, to learn the language and rhythm of a spiritually enriching prayer life. Feel free to download the liturgy cards to aid in your prayers and as we navigate the present crisis, to join with others online each Sunday as well as at other points in the day/night.

Our intercessions booklet is available here as a guide for those leading intercessions in Church Services.

Resources for personal or communal prayer

Common Worship: Daily prayer

Many followers of Jesus have found the Daily Prayer app very helpful for developing a life of prayer. You will get to read through the whole bible within a few years as well as engage regularly with the Psalms. For some of our communal prayers, this is what we will be turning to.

Do check out the other Church of England apps as well.

Other helpful apps

There are also a few other helpful Apps such as…

This will give you the whole bible on your phone. You can access different translations and languages as well as listen to the bible being read whenever you’d like. You can select bible reading plans which will help bring the scriptures to life.

Join in with others as you go through the whole bible in the space of a year. This App has the added bonus of giving you access to reflections on what you will be reading.
